Cables

Don’t get Lou started about cables!  It’s her pet thing.

Why do people spend hundreds, even thousands of pounds on PA equipment or even guitars and amplifiers and then use the ‘free’ cable that was thrown in?

It’s no good having the best equipment and then relying on cheap mass produced cables to connect it all together.  Cables can make or break your gig.  Use good quality cables and connectors that are wired correctly to get the most out of your set up.

Lou makes ALL of the signal and speaker cables either used or sold by Atlantic Audio.

We buy cable by the drum and connectors by the hundred.  We usually have all the common ones in stock so can make up any audio cable you will ever need.

Because all cables are made to order, they can be of any length with any combination of connectors.

ALL OUR CABLES ARE GUARANTEED, in the unlikely event one should fail under normal use, bring it back at Lou will fix it FREE OF CHARGE!!!

Prices as follows.

Cable

All cables cost £1.25 per metre.  Choose from the following:

           Instrument cable

          Microphone Cable

           Speaker Cable

All cables held in stock are black - other colours available to order but will be more expensive due to delivery costs.

Connectors

All the connectors used are manufactured by Neutrik.  These, in our opinion, are the best money can buy and are used by professionals throughout the world.  Don’t stand for the cheap copies - use the best.

For example

5m (16ft) Jack to Jack Guitar Cable is £11.25

10m (32ft)FXLR to MXLR Mic Cable is £17.50

Cable Hints and Tips

Use instrument cable for jack to jacks for guitars, keyboards, pedal links etc.

Mic Cable is not only for microphones.  Use it also for balanced links between mixing desks and amplifiers for example.

Speaker cable contains lots of copper.  Imagine cables as hosepipes - the bigger the pipe the more water you can get through it.  Using smaller diameter cable may well work but much of your amplifier power will be lost, use the right cable and hear the difference.

Connector Hints and Tips

XLRs - Males have sticky out pins and the females have holes!  You’d be surprised at how many get them mixed up.

Jacks - Guitars only require a mono jack, using a stereo is a waste of money and depending on how your guitar and amp is wired may result in some signal loss.

Speakons - Those round blue connectors used on speaker cabinets.  Given a choice of connector on your speakers ALWAYS use the speakons.

We can also make up obscure cables which are not readily available in shops. For example:

Mini Stereo Jack to two mono jacks to plug laptops, MP3, iPods, portable CD/MD players into your system.

Y Splits  - any connectors on the ends.

Insert (send and return) cables again any combination of connectors.

Mini Stereo Jack to two phonos.

Bi Amp Speaker Cables.

If you think you need a weird cable please ask!

We can also make up multicore/stagebox systems.  Please ask for a quote.
